Iris G. Leigh 2019
I find wonder in everyday objects and places. My art often depicts such diverse subjects as a still life assembled from haphazard items on my kitchen counter, an unexpected view turned into a landscape, and the beauty of Cape Cod light at different seasons of the year. As the child of an artist, I grew up in a household of color and form. I’ve studied extensively with wonderful teachers, Odin Smith, Rosalie Nadeau and Marjorie Gerber-Gold, exploring a variety of mediums and techniques which vary with composition and sunlight. Mostly working in acrylics, the bold colors and textures influence my art and illuminate my unique subjects and style.
