Bio

When I was in fourth grade, the library came to our small town in central New Jersey. My best friend and I were the first kids to enter the tiny building. We were so excited, a local newspaper featured pictures of us combing the shelves for the latest Nancy Drew books. To this day, I have always loved books and libraries and believe they continue to influence my life and career.

As a child, I sat at an old Remington typewriter, and created plays, poems, and stories. Writing has always been a way for me to explore new worlds. I’ve written countless professional papers, memoir-themed essays, and have six books in progress.

I am thrilled that Liza’s Secrets has been so well received with over 25,000 downloads, over 850 reviews, and 4+ star ratings on Amazon. Having a book published by an Indie publisher was a rite of passage. I began writing it in 2007, and almost twenty years later, can hold it in my hands. Stay tuned for my next book.

I retired from an academic career and moved to Cape Cod. It is a beautiful setting and full of artists and writers. With the support of a writing group, I wrote, rewrote, and edited my stories. I even had the fortune to collaborate with one of my colleagues on two plays and a children’s book. Working with this group of women has been a fascinating experience, and a labor of love and friendship.

Besides working on the Liza Kasner series, I teach writing at The Academy for Lifelong Learning at Cape Cod Community College and sing in the Chatham Chorale. Both are important bonds with the community. I am also a painter and have shown my works in several galleries in Cape Cod.

Professionally, I have a passion for and was an international presenter on bullying prevention. Liza’s Secrets is a story about a woman being bullied by her husband and her journey to independence. The blending of my professional and artistic careers has been fulfilling.

Living in Cape Cod, I’m fortunate to reside on this tiny peninsula of paradise with my cat and husband. They support me in all my ventures. The natural beauty of the place inspires my painting, music, and writing. I hope my readers will be able to transport themselves to this magical place and explore new worlds for themselves.
